Muktabangla
There are commemorative sculptures of the liberation war in different parts of the country to commemorate those days of war, respect for the martyrs and lifelong struggle against the enemy. Which are ever awake and evoke the turbulent days of war. One such sculpture of the Islamic University (IU) is 'Muktabangla'.
This memorial sculpture, one of the great liberation wars and victories, was erected on 16 December 1996 on the east side of the University Administration Building in the style of modern architecture. It is based on the designs of renowned architect Rashid Ahmed. Which is intertwined with the lives of university students.
On the seven-pillar dome of 'Muktabangla' is a strong-fisted liberation war tool rifle, which symbolizes the cabinet of the seven-member Mujibnagar government. Each pillar is decorated with an architecturally based arch in a wide outstretched arm, with the expectation of the red sun rising in the eye. The lowest wide ceramic large brick is indicative of continuous movement.
